Accutane Drug Information

Accutane belongs to a group of drugs called retinoids. It is in actuality a form of Vitamin A and is used for treatment and averting severe nodular acne in patients who have not responded to prior treatment with antibiotics, other medicaments or diet. It is also used (by both teenagers and adults) for faster and better healing of skin sores provoked by severe acne. The generic drug works by reducing the secretion of sebum – an oily substance excreted from oil secreting glands. Accutane Dosage Information

The recommended Isotretinoin dose is 0.5 mg/kg or 1.0 mg/kg body weight a day divided into two equal doses.
