Aciphex Drug Information

Aciphex is used for treating Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), symptoms of which include heart burns. It is administered orally in the form of tablets and is useful mainly in treating patients with established ulcerative GERD; it is also used to maintain healing in patients with ulcerative GERD. It may be prescribed to treat duodenal ulcers and H. Pylori infections as well. In the generic form, suitable doses of this drug may be prescribed for adolescent patients over twelve years old. These delayed release tablets may be administered alone or in combination with appropriate antibiotics. It is also used in the treatment of certain hypersecretory disorders.

Aciphex Dosage Information

Aciphex is an oral formulation and tablets are to be swallowed whole. Rabeprazole is usually prescribed for a period of four weeks and since Aciphex is available as a delayed release preparation, one dose a day is usually advised. North Meds offers discount Aciphex in doses of 10 mg and 20 mg. It is available in the form of delayed release tablets. Ordering cheap Aciphex is now easier than ever with North Meds.

Side Effects and Precautions for Aciphex

Rabeprazole is commonly known to cause side effects like diarrhoea, pain in the abdomen, headache, light-headedness and dryness of mouth. More serious adverse effects include hepatic encephalopathy and hepatitis. Bone fractures have also been reported with Aciphex use. When used in combination with Warfarin, serious bleeding episodes may ensue; patients undergoing treatment with Warfarin must, therefore, make sure they inform their prescribing physician about it before they buy Aciphex. Those with allergy to Aciphex or any other proton pump inhibitor must refrain from consuming this drug. Aciphex is not generally unsafe in pregnant women or nursing mothers. However, its safety in such patients has not been firmly established. Such patients should therefore, use this medication only if it necessary and has been prescribed by a doctor.
