Aggrastat Drug Information
Aggrastat is an anti-platelet agent/ drug. It is a drug that belongs to the glycol-protein (GP) IIb/IIIa – inhibitor class of anti-platelet drugs. It is a non-peptide and synthetic inhibitor of the GP. The drug is used for treating acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Generic drug is preferably administered along with heparin. The drug is used for patients who undergo atherectomy or PTCA (Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty). The GP-IIb/IIIa receptor is the final pathway for the platelet aggregation. Aggrastat Information
Aggrastat is administered through intravenous route only. It can be administered along with heparin drug, through a single IV-catheter.
