* DIPYRIDAMOLE/ASA
Aggrenox Drug Information
Aggrenox is a combined antiplatelet drug administered orally. It contains two essential components accounting for its main function and namely low-dose aspirin and slow-release dipyridamole. It is used to prevent strokes and is generally administered to patients who have already had transient ischemic attacks or have had a stroke caused by a thrombus blocking the blood flow to the brain – all these patients are categorized as high-risk patients as there is a great chance of strokes re-occurring in these cases. The generic drug prevents blood platelets from sticking together and forming blood clots, thus allowing blood flow into the brain more smoothly and easily.
Aggrenox Dosage Information
The recommended dose of ASA/Dipyridamole is a 25 mg/200 mg capsule taken twice a day, preferably in the morning and in the evening. If patients taking Aggrenox start feeling unbearable headache, dosage should be reduced to one capsule in the evening and one tablet of Aspirin in the morning. As soon as the headache fades away, patients should revert to their recommended dose of cheap Aggrenox. Patients can now make use of 25 mg/200 mg capsules of discount Aggrenox offered at North Meds.
