Alocril Eye Drops Drug Information

Alocril Eye Drops is an ophthalmic preparation prescribed to treat symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. One of the main symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis is itching and redness of the eye. This medication helps prevent this as it is a mast cell stabilizer. By doing so, this generic drug prevents the release of certain chemicals that would otherwise perpetuate the process of allergy. These eye drops come with a sterile eye dropper that is to be used by the patient to deliver the medication to the eye.

Alocril Eye Drops Dosage Information

The pharmacologically active substance present in Alocril is Nedocromil. Cheap Alocril Eye Drops are available in pharmacies as 2% solutions in opaque white containers along with a sterile dropper. It is recommended that, for best results, two drops of the medication in each eye is applied twice a day. Allergic Conjunctivitis is usually seasonal and it is advised that treatment with Alocril be continued until the end of the season. Discount Alocril Eye Drops are available at North Meds as a 2% ophthalmic solution.

Side Effects and Precautions for Alocril Eye Drops

Side effects like burning sensation of the eye accompanied by momentary ocular itching sensation, nasal stuffiness and unpleasant taste sensation have been commonly reported in patients on treatment with Nedocromil. The most frequently observed side effect associated with this medication is, however, headache. Rarely, repulsion to light, asthma, conjunctivitis and rhinitis have also been observed with the use of Alocril Eye Drops. Utmost care should be taken to ensure that the tip of the dropper is not contaminated by touching with the user’s hand during administration. Pregnant women may use this medication but only if deemed necessary by a physician. Lab tests in animals have shown that this Alocril is excreted in breast milk but there is insufficient evidence about this effect in humans. Therefore, nursing mothers must be careful and seek the advice of a doctor before they buy Alocril Eye Drops and use it.
