Combigan Drug Information

Combigan is a topical solution meant for ophthalmic use for the purpose of reducing increased intraocular pressure. The main indications for the use of this medication are, therefore, ocular hypertension and glaucoma. This generic medication is generally given as an adjunct drug in an already existing regimen or used as replacement therapy in those patients who haven’t responded appropriately to other treatments. Intraocular pressure is brought down by this drug by means of two processes that not only decrease production of aqueous humor production but also improve flow of fluid from the eye.

Combigan Dosage Information

The recommended dose of this ophthalmic solution containing Brimonidine/ Timolol is 2 mg/ ml or 0.2 %/ 0.5 %. Drops are to be applied two times a day (preferably twelve hours apart). Since it is commonly used in combination with other ophthalmic solutions, patients must allow at least five minutes between medications. Discount Combigan can be ordered from North Meds. Cheap Combigan is available in a solution of concentration 0.2%/ 0.5%.

Side Effects and Precautions for Combigan

Most side effects of this Brimonidine/ Timolol combination tend to be eye related like allergic conjunctivitis, conjunctival hyperemia, itching sensation in the eye, eyelid depression and swelling around the eyelids. Other adverse effects like hypertension, somnolence, dryness of the mouth and disturbances of vision have also been seen in patients. Patients also consuming beta adrenergic receptor blocking drugs must take care to make sure to watch out for potential synergistic effects of the two drugs. Those patients suffering from obstructive respiratory diseases in which beta blockers are contraindicated must also not buy Comgigan for use. Since Combigan is an ophthalmic solution, care must be taken to ensure that the dropper used to administer the eye drops is maintained sterile and is not contaminated by contact with skin.
