Creon 25 Drug Information

Creon 25 is a pancreatic enzyme drug. The drug is used for treating patients with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. This insufficiency may be a result of cystic fibrosis, pancreatectomy, chronic pancreatitis, gastrointestinal surgery (bypass surgery) or any other reason. The drug is for oral administration only. The generic drug is a mix of three enzymes. These enzymes are the lipase, amylase and protease enzymes. The drug acts by replacing these three enzymes within the body. Once the symptoms of the patient improve, the drug may be continued for a certain period. With a prescription from a doctor, Creon 25 can be bought from North Meds.

Creon 25 Dosage Information

Creon 25 is administered along with food and not after or before meals. The drug is taken orally as delayed-release capsules. The dose of the drug primarily depends upon the patient’s body weight. The recommended dose of the drug for adults and children (who are 4 years of age or older) is a dose starting with 500 lipase units/kg. This dose may be increased to 2500 lipase units/kg of body weight. North Meds offers discount on Creon 25 at 25000 dosage.
