Nilandron Drug Information

The drug is an anti-androgen one administered in prostate cancer patients. It acts by blocking the effects of testosterone and in prostate cancer patients it cuts off androgens supply to the cancer mass. The drug is used to prolong the life of prostate cancer patients by treating methastases, in conjunction with surgical castration. To achieve the maximum effect, the treatment should start on the day of surgical castration or on the next day.

Nilandron Drug Dosage

The dosage recommended is 300 mg once daily, in the course of 30 days, and thereafter maintenance therapy of 150 mg once daily. The administration is prescribed on a long term basis.
