* DARUNAVIR
Prezista Drug Information:
Prezista is an antiviral drug of the class of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) medicines called protease inhibitors. The medicine, just like any other protease inhibitor, prevents HIV cells from multiplication in the human body. It simply blocks the protease protein that HIV needs for its own reproduction, hence retarding HIV disease progress. HIV infections are exclusively treated with this generic medicament in combination with ritonavir and other antiviral agents. The drug is mainly used for treatment of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) occasioned by HIV. Patients can buy Prezista in the form of oval, orange, film-covered tablets.
Prezista Dosage Information:
The recommended daily dosage of Darunavir (Prezista active component) for treatment of adults is between 600 mg and 800 mg. Patients who have never been treated with PIs before, should have two tablets of 400 mg each together with 100 mg of ritonavir once a day. Patients who have already experienced HIV treatment should receive one 600 mg tablet of cheap Prezista together with 100 mg of ritonavir twice a day. Discount Prezista in individual tablets of 300 mg, 400 mg and 600 mg is now available at North Meds.
Side Effects and Precautions for Prezista:
Among the most common and less serious side effects of Darunavir are diarrhea, vomiting, stomachache, headache, skin eruption and body fat dislocation. In very rare cases, some graver side effects may be experienced by patients such as sore throat, headache, fever, rash, quickened heart rate, increased blood sugar, very sharp stomachache, nausea or vomiting. In such cases a doctor should be sought immediately. Extremely rarely, the medicament may lead to higher levels of cholesterol and triglycerides and to declining diabetes. Patients should not take Prezista (or use it only after doctor’s prescription) if they suffer from severe liver disease or are resistant to sulfa drugs. The medicine might lower the effectiveness of contraceptive pills and lead to pregnancy. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should avoid usage of the drug.
