Ranexa Drug Information

The drug is used for treatment of chronic angina in adult patients. It enables the heart to work more efficiently because of the improved blood flow and reduces the number of angina attacks. However, the drug cannot stop an attack after it has started. It is not indicated for treatment during an angina attack. Ranexa can be administered in conjunction with beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, anti platelet therapy or ACE inhibitors.

Ranexa Dosage Information

The initial dose of Ranolazine is 500 mg two times daily. Then it may be increased to 1000 mg two times daily. This is the maximum daily dosage that may be administered. Side Effects and Precautions for Ranexa

Side effects of the drug include headache, dizziness, nausea, constipation. With patients who take cheap Ranexa side effects such as tremors or shortness of breath may be reported. Allergic reactions such as hives, tongue or throat swelling, ear or labyrinth disorders, for example vertigo or tinnitus can also take place. Other severe side effects of Ranolazine include peripheral edema, hypotension or other vascular disorders. In the event of any of the above symptoms, a physician should be consulted immediately. Minor side effects include dry mouth or ringing in ears. Patients with liver disease should not take the drug. Administration together with medicines such as Nizoral, Fortovase, Viracept should not be allowed. Patients on other medications should inform their physician.
