Drug Information for Sensipar
Sensipar is a calcimimetic agent that helps in reducing the production of PTH, otherwise known as Para Thyroid Hormone. This in turn helps in the reduction of blood calcium levels in the body. Side Effects and Precautions for Sensipar
Stop using Cinacalcet and call your doctor at once if you experience serious side effects like swelling, rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, even with mild exertion, seizure, fast or slow heart rate, overactive reflexes, muscle tightness or contraction and numbness or tingly feeling around your mouth. There are some common side effects when you use Sensipar. These include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, dizziness or weakness, mild chest pain and muscle pain. If these side effects persist, consult your doctor immediately.
Do not use Cinacalcet if you are allergic to it. If you have high blood pressure, heart failure, heart rhythm disorder, heart disease, history of seizures or any liver disease you may need a dose adjustment.
