Tarka Drug Information
Tarka is a combination medication comprising of a calcium channel blocker and an Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. This orally administered medication is used to manage hypertension. As it is a combination of two drugs, the anti-hypertensive effect of this generic medication is brought about by two different mechanisms. The calcium channel blocker acts by regulating the calcium ion levels within the smooth muscles of arteries and the ACE inhibitor functions by inhibiting a vasopressor thereby aiding in controlling blood pressure.
Tarka Dosage Information
The recommended dosage for this Trandolapril/ Verapamil combination is between 1 mg/ 120 mg to 4 mg/ 480 mg consumed orally once a day or in two divided doses.
