Temovate Drug Information
Temovate belongs to the corticosteroid class of drugs and is used in the management and treatment of different skin conditions like allergies, rash, eczema, dermatitis etc. This generic medication helps in bringing down the swelling and redness that is generally associated with these skin conditions. It is also used for the treatment of itching or inflammation in the scalp caused by a variety of skin ailments.
Side Effects and Precautions for Temovate
Quite often, using Temovate does not cause any serious side effects. Some of the common side effects include itching, burning or stinging sensation. You may also experience redness or dryness when you apply Clobetasol for the first time on the affected skin area. If it persists beyond a few days seek medical attention or it can create serious complications. In some cases, it can also cause serious side effects like skin discoloration, acne, stretch marks or unwanted hair growth. If you display any of these side effects, seek immediate medical treatment.
Before you use Clobetasol, inform your doctor if you are allergic to it or other corticosteroids like prednisone, hydrocortisone etc. Before you take Temovate, inform your doctor about your medical history, particularly if you have any immune system or blood circulation problems. Also, inform your doctor if you have rosacea, perioral dermatitis or other similar skin conditions. Temovate Dosage Information
This drug is available at North Meds at a discount as Temovate 0.05% cream, 0.05% ointment and 0.05% scalp lotion. The medication should be applied as a thin layer on the affected skin area twice a day. This ointment needs to be rubbed onto the skin area that is affected. As this drug contains very high potency corticosteroids, you should discontinue it once you are able to gain control over the affected skin area. This medication should not be used for more than two weeks. If you are not able to gain control over the skin condition seek further medical advice.
