Ultravist Drug Information
Ultravist is an iodinated contrast agent that is used in different procedures like intravenous and intra arterial procedures. In cases of intra arterial procedures, this generic drug is used for coronary arteriography, cerebral arteriography, peripheral arteriography, left venticulography, visceral angiography and aortography. In cases of intravenous procedures, this drug is used for peripheral venography, contrast CT and urography. This drug is also used to make an evaluation of neoplastic lesions and non-neoplastic lesions.
Side Effects and Precautions for Ultravist
Lopromide can cause some common side effects that include abdominal discomfort, dry mouth, constipation, stomach pain, excessive thirst, chest pain, pyrexia and cardiac disorders like bradycardia, atrio ventricular block etc. If any of these side effects persist, contact your doctor. Ultravist can also lead to fainting, troubled heart beats, severe weakness, high blood pressure, coronary thrombosis, slow heartbeat and unusual tiredness. If you experience any of these side effects, get immediate medical attention.
Do not use Lopromide if you suffer from any renal problem, advanced vascular disease, heart disease, multiple myeloma, diabetes, chest pain, stroke and myocardial infarction. The recommended dosage of this drug in intravenous procedures like peripheral venography is 240 mg/ml and for excretory urography is 300 mg/ml.
