Vepesid Drug Information

Vepesid is an antineoplastic (also known as VP-16) administered either orally or intravenously. It is a cancer medicine that could be used alone or very often in combination with other chemotherapeutical drugs. The generic medicament is indicated in the management of certain types of cancer, such as small cell lung cancer, testicular cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, non-lymphocytic leukemia and lymphoma. The drug is an inhibitor of the enzyme topoisomerase II and it works by intervening in cancer cells division (preventing their DNA synthesis), thus retarding cancer cells growth and hampering their spread in the body.

Vepesid Dosage Information

Daily dosage of Etoposide should be strictly adjusted to the individual patient’s needs and severity of condition. The recommended dose of cheap Vepesid (when administered orally) is 35 mg/m2 per day, taken twice for a period of 4 days and may go up to 50 mg/m2 per day taken two times for 5 days. Chemotherapy with Vepesid should be executed again at 3 to 4 weeks interval after patient’s sufficient recovery from any toxicity. Patients can now buy discount Vepesid at North Meds in single capsules of 50 mg and 100 mg and as injection solution of 20 mg/ml.

Some of the most frequent side effects of Etoposide are light nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, skin itches or temporary hair loss.
